The Parish Religious Education Program is just one part of your child’s Christian Education. The children’s first and primary teachers are their parents and guardians, whose role it is to nurture the spiritual growth of their children. Parents/guardians strive to share their faith with their children and encourage them to establish a relationship with God. The role of the Religious Education Program is to assist parents/guardians in fulfilling their responsibility to encourage children to accept God’s gift of faith and to embrace the love and words of Jesus.
The St. Catharine- St. Margaret Religion Education Program takes place once a week for grades K-8 in St. Catharine School for the entire school year. Grades K-5 attend classes on Tuesday afternoons, grades 6-8 on Tuesday evenings. A Summer program is also offered for certain grades for two weeks during the month of June with additional requirements throughout the year.
All Religious Education teachers are volunteers and have participated in the Diocese of Trenton Safe Environment Program which includes a background check and attendance in a VIRTUS training session. A small monetary fee is applied to all students in the program to cover the cost of books and materials.
